As tomorrow edges closer, the nervousness is kicking in. At the crack of dawn, I leave for my first solo camping trip.

I’m driving to Georgian Bay, leaving my car here, then hitting the water in my canoe.

After two portages, the open lake will be mine for the taking. All mine.

I don’t know where I’ll settle down for the night, but it’ll definitely be surreal.

Armed with some food, my camping gear, and Nikon 5100, I search for solitude.
